SR-LAB
Startle Reflex System

Over
20 years of use in scientific research with more published
studies than any other startle system!

Product
Overview
Startle
Reflex System - the world’s most widely used startle
system and by far the best for testing startle habituation
and pre-pulse inhibition. The basic SR-LAB hardware and the
Microsoft® Windows-based software put all startle paradigms
into your hands. Virtually any combination of tones, noise
bursts, lights, air puffs, background noise and foot shock
options are controlled by the SR-LAB software.
SR-LAB
supports up to sixteen test stations. Four standard sizes
of animal enclosures can be ordered with the system. Custom
sizes are also available upon request. The test cabinets allow
full and unobtrusive observation of test animals in their
enclosures. The animal enclosures are removable for easy cleaning.
Data collected by the SR-LAB are completely secure and recorded
in a non-editable form. The SR-LAB is available in three configurations:
the ‘ABS’, ‘Prime’ and ‘Starter’
systems. |

SR-HLAB
(Formerly EMG-SR) |
SR-HLAB
System – for clinical or primate research from the designers
of the world’s most widely used startle system. |

Product
Overview
The
SR-HLAB Response Module is contained in a portable chassis
and includes response amplification, filter and isolation
circuits. The basic chassis may contain up to two response
amplifiers. An optional 'daughter' chassis enables the Response
Module to expand to eight amplifiers. For the EMG Electrode
method the amplifier includes both + and - electrode inputs,
multiple, selectable noise band filters with over 100dB common
mode rejection at 50Hz for export. Discrete, selectable amplification
levels are available with 50 microvolt full scale sensitivity.
For the photoelectric cell (PEC) method the amplifier records
eyelid movement. Lid closure reflects an LED ray back to an
adjacent photoelectric cell; milli. volt output increases with blink initiation,
decreases with blink completion, and a waveform is produced.
Subject isolation is designed to meet ANSI/AAMI standards.

Gemini
Avoidance System |
Active
and passive avoidance testing for both rats & mice
|
|
Product
Overview
SDI’s
Gemini™ Avoidance System is designed for active and
passive avoidance testing in rats and mice. It can be configured
with up to 8 test stations with each station starting and
running independently. A Gemini test station is a two-compartment
enclosure with an interchangeable rat or mouse grid floor
(conversion takes less than five minutes), 16 photo-beams
for precise location of the animal, two, house, and two, cue,
lights, two sound generators and an SDI Animal Shocker. SDI’s
Animal Shocker is the only one of its kind to display the
actual current being administered to the subject. Photo-beams
may be manually disabled to vary the required compartment
entry distance.
Gemini’s
easy to use menu-based software offers passive avoidance (Classic
and Trials to Criterion) and active avoidance options, full
test diagnostics, runtime data display and a fully formatted
report. Gemini’s standard data file can be transferred
into other data management or statistical programs. |
